Ray's Notes

We had 49 cars enter our 5^th race of the season at LACR, sponsored by Meziere Enterprises.  We are very fortunate to have the Meziere’s as long time sponsors of SCPG and we really appreciate all they do for our Association.  They are a great family with great family values.  Remember they make a lot more than just water pumps, so next time you need something for your car, if you want quality parts give them a call.

I need to thank Robin, Mo, Sharon, Kari and Kitty for all their help at the races and also Dave Fargo for taking care of the points.  Also, thanks to Bernie, Marie and the gang at LACR for running such a smooth race as usual.

Congratulations to Wayne Newman, the other half of Newman Racing, for winning the race and taking over the points lead.  Wayne was on the tree all day and also did a great job at the finish line.  Also, Congrats to Randy Fabbro for his runner-up finish he was dialed all day. 

Our #1 Qualifier was Mike Blodgett Sr, Syd’s Papa, with a 10.200.  Randy Fabbro got the Pizazz Racing, “The You Just Missed It” award with a 10.201.  Our # 5 Qualifier and the winner of the “Ken Racer Brown” award, was J Wayne Silvia.  He also did a great job of re-paving the track at LACR.  Our #16 Qualifier was Randy Lazarus; he received a $25.00 gift certificate from CSI Performance.  Last but not least was the Mo’s Exotic Soap N Candles, “Clean Up” award that went to Audrey Israel.  The Bulls-Eye award, sponsored by Tim & Donna Daniel, Jim Sowards and Randy Bowers, will go to Carl Jennings for taking out our point’s leader Chris Newman.

We would also like to thank Greg and Al Ventura of Ventura Racing for sponsoring the race trophy.  And again thanks to Joe Roubicek for the Runner-Up and #1 Qualifier plaques.  We also need to thank our Contingency sponsors:

Our next race will be August 14^th at Fontana, gates open at 10am and racing begins at 2pm, there will be no Friday night parking.  The race will be sponsored by Team Smooth, SMI and Perma-Coil.  This will be our last race at Fontana this year, and remember that Larry Scarth will be paying an additional $1000.00 to the winner and $500.00 to the runner-up; making it $2500.00 to win and $1250.00 to runner-up.
