Ray's Notes

We had 69 cars enter our rain delayed 2nd race of the year, which we ran in conjunction with the National Open at LACR. JE Pistons, The Brakeman, Tryon Patterns and Rumis Motorsports sponsored the race. The trophy sponsors were Kari & PJ. Thank you all very much for your support. Don’t forget to support those that support us.

Congratulations to John Cross for winning his 1st S.C.P.G. race. Wish Pam could have been there to share in John’s win. John Jr. had a smile from ear to ear.

Also, Congrats to Doug Spencer for his runner-up finish, Doug and Rick have really got that new Corvette working well. I was lucky enough to win the #1 qualifier plaque from Joe Roubicek and $100.00 from Rumis Motorsports, thank you Joe and Chip. Hubert Pierce, Jr. got the “You just missed it” award and $25.00 from PJ and Jack Giacalone of Pizazz Racing. Phil Miller got the $30.00 from Ken “Racer” Brown for being our #5 qualifier. Rich Okerman got the $100.00 Bulls-Eye award from Dave Calvert of C.P. Pistons.

Andy Ablott was running his 1st S.C.P.G. race with the Vega that he bought from Joe Roubicek when he developed an oil leak and rolled the car 3 or 4 times before coming to a stop. We are happy to say that Andy was not hurt but we can’t say the same for the car. We hope he will be able to rebuild and race with us again,
