Ray's Notes We had 50 cars enter our last race of the year sponsored by one of our long time sponsors Meziere Enterprises. We really appreciate all that the Meziere family has done for all of us over the years. Also thanks to Bill Ohmer for sponsoring the race trophy and to Joe Roubicek for sponsoring the #1 qualifier and runner-up plaques all year. There were 8 drivers going into this last race with a chance to win the championship. Congratulations to Alan Hoefer for not only winning the race but also for winning the Southern California Pro Gas Championship and the trip to Maui sponsored by Les and Jeanette Harris. Also congrats to Greg Martin for his runner-up finish. I was lucky enough to be our #1 qualifier and received $100.00 from Greg and Rosalie Martin. Thank you Greg and Rosalie. Our #2 qualifier was Alan Hoefer and he received $25.00 and the “You Just Missed It” award from P.J. and Jack Giacalone of Pizazz Racing. Rick Gunther was our #5 qualifier and received $30.00 from Ken “Racer” Brown of Brown’s Transmission and Repair. The $100.00 Bulls-Eye award sponsored all year by Dave Calvert and CP Pistons went to P.J. Giacalone for taking out our point’s leader Pete Kinney in the 2nd round. The Turtle award of $25.00 sponsored by Jim Sowards for the worst winning light during eliminations went to Greg Martin for winning his 1st round with a .456 light. Our banquet luncheon will be Dec. 10th on the Queen Mary from 11:30-4:30 P.M. Please R.S.V.P. to Pete Kinney before Dec. 1st at 714/343-5242 or e-mailing him at Pete@petesdragin.com. Let him know if you want Beef or Chicken. Pete and Nancy are planning some fun things at the banquet including a Crew Reaction Time contest open to everyone except for drivers. We are still looking for products and gifts for the banquet so if you can help out contact either Pete or Myself. P.J. will be stepping down next year and Jimmy G has volunteered to take his place. I really appreciate all of P.J.’s help in the past and am looking forward to working with Jimmy. All the other directors Pete, Woody and Randy will be returning and I will be staying on as president for one more year. Thank you everyone, racers, sponsors, directors and support people for making this another great year for S.C.P.G. Most of all thank you to Robin, Donna, Dave, Kari and Kitty for all you do before, during and after the races. Hope to see you all at the Banquet … Ray Our proposed schedule for 2006 is as follows: S\St-P\G January 28-29th Fontana Please remember we are looking for sponsors for next year. If you know of anyone or a business that would be interested please look into it and let us know. We are all part of the S.C.P.G. Association and we all need to help out for it to continue on. |
